OCP Group, world leader in the phosphate industry and the Mohamed VI PolytechnicUniversity of Benguerir, dedicated to research, development and innovation in Africa, have justlaunched IMPULSE, a global acceleration program, aimed at startups in the AgriTech sectors, Bio-technology, Mining Technologies, Materials Sciences, and Nano-Sciences.
About the Program:
This program, which begins on March 18, 2019, will take place over 12 weeks within the new accelerator of Mohammed VI PolytechnicUniversity and will be closed by a DEMO Day, June 10, 2019. The participating startups will have full access to state-of-the-art research facilities and laboratories, equipped with the latest equipment. They will be supervised by OCP experts, professors and Ph.D. students from the UM6P, and mentors from the world of entrepreneurship.
IMPULSE is for startups that have already proven their innovative concept, in the areas of AgriTech, Bio-Technology, Mining Technologies, Materials Sciences, and Nano-Sciences.
The program will be closed by a DEMO Day for a meeting with a large portfolio of potential investors (investment funds, business angels, principals). This would be an opportunity for participating startups to showcasetheir talents, to connect to other networks on the continent, business networks, institutional networks, as well as networks of fundingpotential.
Nominations for this contest are now open. Start-ups, interested and selected by a jury of local and international experts and mentors, will pitch in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, AddisAbaba, Ethiopia, and Lagos, Nigeria, early next year.
