The 0-2 loss suffered by Nigeria against Croatia appears to have sparked a decision to drop some players from the starting line up ahead of Friday’s game against Iceland.
Head coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr is considering dropping Wilfred Ndidi from the starting line up as he aim to go for broke against Iceland by lining up a midfield with players who can guarantee goals during the game.
Based on the team’s training earlier today, it seems the coach is also considering new roles for the duo of Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi but the latter is in danger of getting dropped totally from the squad in favour of Ahmed Musa.
Musa will likely start the game against Iceland as Nigeria aim to stretch their opponent who are expected to be lined up in a defensive way when both teams clash on Friday as even a draw might be good enough for them.
As part of the strategy to attack from the start of the game, the coach has pencilled down the attack minded Tyronne Ebuehi as the right full back for the game with Shehu Abdullahi expected to be dropped from the starting line up.
