Super Eagles and Hapoel Beer Sheva of Israel striker, Anthony Nwakaeme has stated that Nigeria will be ready to face any opposition ahead of today’s world cup draws in Russia.
Nwakaeme spoke on his preference for a tough group draw ahead of the World Cup in an exclusive interview with brila.net.
The 28-year-old striker added that a soft world cup group would engender complacency while a seemingly tough group would only task the players to give their best once again from the word go.
“I think I would love Nigeria in a tough group, I mean drawn with top teams”, This will task us (Players) to give the best we can,” Nwakaeme told brila.net
Nigeria’s Super Eagles who qualified as the first team in Africa after edging teams like Cameroon, Algeria and Zambia to seal the automatic sole ticket for the Mundial in the Africa zone qualifier, will be hoping for a favourable draw today.
The three-time Africa Champions is placed in Pot 4, alongside countries such as Serbia, Australia, Japan, Morocco, Panama, Korea Republic, Saudi Arabia.
Pot 1 has Russia, Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Poland, and France.
Pot 2 has Spain, Peru, Switzerland, England, Colombia. Mexico, Uruguay, and Croatia.
