Former Plateau United forward Philip Azango was once again on the score sheet for Slovakian side AS Trencin as they secure a healthy first leg win in the Europa League Qualifiers by thrashing Dutch side Feyenoord 4-0.
The GBS Academy product netted in the 44th minute to put his side three goals up before Antonio Mance grabbed his hattrick to help them claim a comfortable 4-0 win ahead of their illustrious opponent.
Azango’s goal against Feyenoord took his goals tally in the Europa League to three in his last three games as he also found the back of the net in both games against Polish side Gornik Zabrze in the previous round of qualifiers.
21 year old Azango wasn’t the only Nigerian on parade for the Slovakian side with Rueben Yem and highly rated Abdul Zubairu also featuring in the game with Zubairu substituted with six minutes to go after picking up a booking.
Emeka Umeh who opened his goal tally for the club was an unused substitute in the game, while the duo of Yamen Tenton and Peter Eneji are yet to be added to the squad of the club in the Europa League.
