Place more focus on Nigeria National League – Udeze to NFF, LMC

Former Super Eagles defender, Ifeanyi Udeze has called on the authorities of the League Management company under the auspices of the NFF to place more focus on the Nationwide league.

The former West Bromwich Albion of England defender spoke to brila.net on the need to place some focus more on the second division league as there is a pool of footballing talent in the tier.

“I have been opportune to watch two of the NNL games, and I can tell you categorically that the players in that league are talented and hungry for a breakthrough,” Udeze told brila.net.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Nigeria National League, Chidi Okenwa in a chat with Brila FM has also called on players to put aside all manners of ignorance in contractual agreements with their individual clubs, adding that the NNL management would be commencing an extensive enlightenment program for the players on the International Law on Contractual Agreements as it relates to Players and their respective clubs.

Udeze wants the League management company to pay more attention to the NNL, Saying a lot of the players have been playing for their teams for a long time without remuneration.

“Some of the players in the NNL have been playing for three years and have only received bonus or allowance for 6 months” Udeze confirmed.

The former PAOK Thessaloniki of Greece defender had started his footballing career with Bendel Insurance before securing a deal to join Kavala in the Greek Championship in the Year 1997.

Ifeanyi was also a member of the Super Eagles team at the Korea/Japan FIFA World Cup under the tutelage of Chief Adegboye Onigbinde.
