Italian Serie A side Roma have pulled their Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar out of the squad of the senior national team of Nigeria for the friendly game against Atletico Madrid.
Sadiq who spent last season on loan to Dutch side NAC Breda was originally in the 35 man list of coach Gernot Rohr for the World Cup, but lost out when the list was reduced to 30 on the insistence of the coach.
Widely tipped to be a part of the foreign based players who will make the squad for the game against Atletico Madrid. His possible participation in the game has been dashed by Roma.
The team gave the forward a medical advice to stay away from any football related activity for a while as he perfects his recovery from the injury that saw him play less for NAC Breda towards the end of the season.
Back on holiday in Kaduna, he is highly tipped to be a part of the first team plans of Roma next season after a successful six months loan spell with NAC Breda, where he scored six goals from ten games.
