Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger has hinted that Nigerian attacking midfielder, Alex Iwobi could be fined if reports he partied 48hours to FA Cup loss are true.
Speaking earlier in his press Conference ahead of tomorrow’s Carabao Cup’s Semifinal against Chelsea, the Frenchman affirmed that if the claims were true, Iwobi will be fined.
The 21-year-old Iwobi was filmed at a party just before 3am in the early hours of Saturday morning, in the build-up to Arsenal’s whooping 4-2 defeat at Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon, which Iwobi played.
‘If that is true he will be fined,’ Wenger said during his press conference ahead of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Chelsea.
‘It’s unacceptable. It’s impossible to go out 48 hours before a game.
‘I will have to see him and see if that is right or not.’
Although there is no suggestion the player was taking drugs, tenants in neighbouring flats reported laughing gas canisters and a strong smell of cannabis coming from the party apartment, according to The Sun, which also claims that the video was taken at 2.37am on Saturday.
