Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi has sealed a return to Royal Excel Mouscron on loan till the end of the season after terminating his initial loan deal with Gent, which was supposed to run till the end of the current season.
Last season Awoniyi scored ten goals and also provided seven assists in 31 games for Mouscron, a feat he will be hoping to repeat following his return to the club, who are placed 15th on the 16 team log and in danger of dropping to the second division.
He made 22 appearances for Gent in all competitions but while he failed to find the back of the net in the league, he did score three goals in cup competition for the period of time his loan lasted.
Owngoalnigeria.com gathered from sources close to the 21 year old that his decision to leave Gent came after newly appointed coach of the club Jess Thorup refuse to guarantee him a regular run of game in the second half of the season.
At Mouscron he will no doubt get games and he won’t need time to settle down at the club considering the fact that he will work with same people he worked with during his loan spell at the club last season.
